Sport Nitrox Rebreather Diver
Diving with the AP Inspiration

The PSAI Sport Rebreather Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to utilise either Enriched Air (Nitrox) in a Semi Closed Circuit Rebreather or oxygen concentrations up to and including 100% (+/- 1% by analysis) in a Closed Circuit Rebreather during their sport diving activities. The training and qualification depth is limited by the choice of equipment and in all cases to a maximum of 40 meters (135ft).


This course and qualification does not include decompression diving. This course is designed to encompass many sport focused Rebreathers in a generic format and is not a depth critical course. Depth qualification printed on the student certification is dictated by the student’s practical ability based on their recreational qualification, the chosen equipment and manufacturer’s guidelines for that equipment & the Instructor’s assessment of the student’s capability observed and discussed upon completion of the course.

The course

PSAI

Theory

The course starts with you reading the course manual and the operating manual of the Rebreather you want to be trained on. You will need to fill in the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter. We review the material and some of the theory behind Rebreather diving in our dedicated classroom facility (near Stafford). We believe, to ensure you learn the theory, kit-assembly and testing in a professional and relaxing environment - a reason we don't teach the theory between the dives in car-parks or kit changing rooms.

Exam

You will need to pass an exam which will test your understanding of the theory, but for those who read the book, filled in the knowledge review and participated in the class room session, usually don't have a problem passing the exam.

Practical

We are authorised to train on all the popular rebreathers - AP Inspiration, AP Evolution, VR Sentinel, InnerSpace Megalodon and Poseidon Discovery. If the unit is not listed here, please contact us as we maybe authorised to teach on them. We will dive all of the dives in the Open Water, usually in one of the UK inland water sites. The depth you will dive to will be depended on the previous qualifications you hold and the limitation set by the equipment and gases used.
